Introduction:

Morzine is an alpine town surrounded from all angles by tall mountains. Located at 1,000, metres we see good snowfall yearly making us a popular winter destination for skiiers and snowboarders. Equally we get some lovely sunshine and temperate weather conditions during the summer months making us a prime location for mountain hiking and biking.

Morzine is one of the most northerly of the French Alpine resorts and enjoys panoramic views of the mountains as well as modern ski facilities and a whole host of chalets, hotels and restaurants.

Morzine terrain varies from long, wide tree-lined slopes in Morzine itself, a snow park in Avoriaz and more challenging slopes situated in Mont Cherry and Chamossiere.

Snowfall:

During the 2019/2020 winter season, Morzine saw 258cm of snowfall with an average summit depth of 153cm. This was down on the previous 2 years with between 455cm and 460cm of snowfall in the previous 2 years.

Summer Activities:

Thanks to its temperate climate, Morzine is the ideal location for a summer full of activity. Well-known for its mountain biking, golfing, Alpine walking and caving activities.

Tour de France:

The Tour de France first entered Morzine in 1975 and has returned numerous times since. Thanks to the proximity of Morzine to the infamously steep Col de Joux-Plane climb, we have been lucky enough to host a number of Tour de France stage finishes. We have had the Tour de France visit Morzine 5 times in the last 20 years and each time it visits it brings a fantastic atmosphere and excitement to the town. We really recommend being here next time it arrives!

Winter Activities:

Thanks to its high volume of snow and altitude. Morzine is the ideal location for skiers and snowboarders of all levels of experience.

Majoriy of our terrain is of intermediate levels which makes it well suited to less-seasoned skiers and snowboarders making us extremely popular for family holidays. If you prefer more challenging slopes then these can be found in the nearby Avoriaz.
