As a couple we liked nothing more than spending our main summer holiday laying on a beach somewhere hot reading and relaxing. We were active but a few water sports, a bike ride or a walk were enough. It was never even on our radar to go to the mountains for a family holiday.
FAMILY HOLIDAY IN FRANCE
There is soo much to do here but what makes its really great is you can do it all together as a family.
Believe me when I say I understand why sending your children off to kid’s club for hours why you relax read and drink by the pool is inviting, but I’ve found spending quality time with the kids participating in all manor of summer activities is actually really fun, rewarding and surprising relaxing.
We have the Park Dereches with its Olympic size pool, children’s pools, waterslide etc. ‘Lac Montriond’ is also a family favorite. There’s a small lake for all to splash around and swim in and then the larger lake for activities such a paddle boarding and canoeing. All with the most amazing backdrop.
We then have all the other activities. Now there really are too many to list but here are just a few to wet your appetite.
- Mountain Biking for all ages.
- Horse Riding
- White water activities
- Climbing
- Tree top adventure park
- Paragliding
- Tennis
If that isn’t enough for you the town also have 2 weeks 16th – 20th July and 11th – 17th August which are called ‘Royaume des Marmots’ (Kids Kingdom) where the town put on lots of extra activities for the children such as face painting, crafts and shows on the outside stage in the centre of town.
There are also some weird and wonderful adventures down by the river ‘Dereche’.
You never know what surprises maybe waiting for you so why not give Morzine a go one summer with the family. It won’t disappoint.
