With limited time off work, we all want our holiday to tick a lot of boxes - especially so with skiing since you will probably go only once a year. We are going to run a series of blogs on how to make the most of your ski holiday, but first and foremost, choose accommodation where the staff have local knowledge and are available to help both pre holiday and during your stay. This can save valuable time and maximise the holiday experience for everyone in your party.
Here at the L’Aiglon we would like to introduce (although many of you are familiar with) our on site manager, Kevin Porter:
"Myself and Ang moved to Morzine in 2001 after giving up our jobs in London and selling our house to pursue a life in the mountains. The following year, we bought a chalet in Morzine which we ran as a fully catered chalet for just over 7 years. We had a fabulous time with many of our guest coming back year after year and becoming close friends.
During these times, we learnt so much about the needs of holiday makers and the different requirements for summer and winter guests. We decided to stop running our chalet when we were expecting our child, at which point we were approached to look after the Aiglon.
Our initial drive and motivation to move to the mountains, aside from working in the holiday industry and having the rewards that it provides, was snowboarding. We had fallen in love with the sport late in life but it drew us both to the mountains. Since then we have learnt to ski and to mountain bike. When we first arrived in Morzine we made a pledge to enjoy everything that the mountains had to offer as often as we could as, otherwise, we may as well be back in England. So, to this day, we still spend a lot of time Snowboarding, Skiing, Biking, Running, Swimming, Walking, Wakeboarding etc, and now our 5 year old son Archie is following our example.“
